Amber Goddess – Warm Copper and Gold Smokey Eye (EID 2014)

Hi my bunnies!

The reason I decided to name this look ‘Amber Goddess’ is because of the two BEAUTIFUL eyeshadows I used — the stunners of the show – MAC Amber Lights and MakeupGeek Goddess! I’ve been wearing these colors constantly for the last couple of weeks, just changing up the intensity here and there. I also think it’s perfect for the upcoming EID celebrations…most people love to dress up during EID and I think these shades would compliment many different eye colors and outfits! Everybody loves glitz and glam during EID and nothing screams out glamourous more than GOLD!

*PLEASE EXCUSE THOSE UNKEMPT EYEBROWS! I really need to do something about those! Just too lazy ! 😛

EYES

~Start off with MakeupGeek Chickadee and Creme Brule on the crease taking it upward just below the browbone and across to the upper inner corner.

~So the same windshield wiper motion with MakeupGeek Country Girl all across but this time closer to the crease…take the shadow downwards to both the inner and outer corner

~Add MakeupGeek Goddess to both the inner and outer corners layering it over Country Girl (don’t completely cover it – Country Girl will be peeking through slightly)

~Add MAC Amber Lights to the center of the lid…spritz the brush with Fix + or any other mist or water  before applying the shadow to intensify the color

~With a more precise blending brush, take MakeupGeek Mocha and Corrupt and lighty start dabbing and blending in the outer corner taking it slightly up to the crease…don’t take too much in one go…layer it slowly until you get your desired intensity – Remember less is more!

~Add MAC Ricepaper to the browbone as a highlight

~Line your eyes with a gel liner and make a slight wing

~Quickly before the liner sets, take a pencil brush with a little bit of corrupt on it and start layering it over the liner, pushing it upwards as you go and smudging it

~ Tightline the upper lashline

~For the water line, I only added a black eye pencil on the inner and outer bit leaving the middle empty

~In the middle waterline add a gold eye pencil or Amber Lights eyeshadow

~On the bottom lashline do the same thing with a black eyeshadow on the outer and inner corner and MAC Amberlights in the middle

~Blend everything with a blending brush!

~Add Mascara on top and bottom lashesh and Falsies (Miss Adoro Demi Wispies)

WHEW that was a lot to explain! Hopefully I can start doing videos soon so its easier to understand! Fingers Crossed!

Eid Look 2: Celebrate with Colors!

2eidlook2

This is the 2nd Eid Look that I came up with. I was confused between a colorful eye and a dark smokey eye but my friend Farah suggested color, so here we are! Eid is a very joyous occasion, therefore spread some love, happiness, and color to all your loved ones this Eid. I know Eid has already been celebrated in some parts of the world and I apologize for not being able to post this look earlier. However, Eid celebrations do not end in one day ! Eid Mubarak everyone.

The photo above do not do justice to the beautiful colors that I have used. Here’s a photo taken with flash:

A breakdown of the eyeshadows I used:

Step By Step:

– First use a primer: Nars Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base

– Then use a white base so the colors show up more vibrantly: Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk

– Then sweep Mac Sushi Flower or any coral or pink eyeshadow on the out crease creating a transition for the other eyeshadows

– Then wet an eye shader brush with Mac Fix + (or water or any other face mist) and dab Mac Stars N Rockets (duochrome purple and pink) on the lid. You can spray Fix+ after you have eyeshadow on the brush aswell.

– Then with a fluffy crease brush (Mac 217 / Sigma E25) diffuse Mac Hepcat (discontinued – you can try Mac Plum Dressing) on the outer corner up to the outer crease .

– Take a pencil brush and outline the crease with Mac Fig.1 (dark matte purple) and blend it out with a fluffy crease brush.

– Use Mac Beautiful Iris (lavender color) on the inner corner

– Use Urban Decay Virgin from the Naked Palette on the brow bone and tear duct.

– Line the eyes with a black gel or liquid liner. Make a elongated wing.

– On the bottom lash line, use Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tenacious Teal or Edgy Emerald as a base. Drag it underneath the black winged eyeliner.

– Go over the teal/emerald base with Mac Steamy or Shimermoss (shimmery blue green).

– Line the waterline with a black kohl liner.

– Coat both your upper and lower lashes with mascara and use falsies to make the look even more dramatic. I used Ardell 120 demi lashes even though I feel these weren’t best choice for this look.

Here’s a couple of full face shots:

Hope you all have or had an amazing Eid and Happy Friday! XO

Eid Look: Arabic inspired gold smokey eye with a pop of color!

goldeotd

Are you bored of neutrals but too scared to try colors? Fret no more! This look I tried today incorporates best of both color palettes! I created this look keeping in mind those who will be celebrating Eid this year (including me) but this look is great for any special occasion. A beautiful gold on the lid, with a subtle black cut crease blended with soft browns, and underneath, a vibrant purple-pink duo-chrome, setting it apart from just another boring gold smokey eye. This is a great way to incorporate color to your eyes. I find golds looks beautiful paired with blues, purples, and greens! The Arabic inspired wing on both sides adds an extra flair. You can totally skip it if you want!

apply primer first, I used Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer

Crease:

– outline the cut crease with a black or brown pencil (Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl)

– smudge it with a pencil brush and darken in with a intense black eyeshadow (Storm Palette)

– blend overall with a soft brown color (Mac Soft Brown) to create a diffused effect on the outer crease

– darken the area closer to the black cut crease with a neutral mid-town brown (Mac Cork) and blend the brown with the black

Lid:

– apply a gold cream base (Maybeline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold)

– apply a shimmery gold eyeshadow over the base (Inglot AMC Shine 11)

– blend any harsh edges with a clean brush, you can go over with soft brown as well

*Line your eyes with a black liquid or gel liner

*Keep the middle part thicker and more rounded and create an intense wing on both the outer and inner corner (arabic inspired)

Underneath:

– line the waterline with a black pencil (Rimmel Scandaleyes)

– apply the duochrome purple (Mac Stars N Rockets) on the bottom line and drag it underneath both the wings

Browbone:

– highlight the brow bone with a soft white or cream color (Lorac Pro Cream)

*Darken the cut crease with the black again

*Apply mascara on both top and bottom lashes and add falsies if you like

And VOILA!
