Summer in Arabia: Colorful Eye Look feat. Sleek Snapshots Palette

IMG_7894

Hi lovelies,

Yesterday I sat in front of my vanity having something totally different in my mind but I stumbled upon the Sleek Makeup Snapshots palette and the colors totally blew my mind. I had to do something colorful, something vibrant, perfect for upcoming summer festivals, parties, and weddings in the Northern Hemisphere (You lucky people! It’s freezing cold here in Aussieland :S). I’m calling it ‘Summer in Arabia’ because it is somewhat Arabic inspired with the wing and the vibrant colors.

1. After priming your lid – apply Washed Ashore on the upper crease area. Then layer on Magenta Madness with a fluffy brush on top of the previous color and go back and for on the inner and outer part of the upper crease in a windshield wiper motion to diffuse the color. Don’t pack on the color all together. Layer slowly, building up the intensity until you are happy with it.

2. Then add Purple Haze with a denser crease (MAC 217) on the outer crease bringing it inwards at the crease.

3. On a flat shader brush, take the color Green Iguana and spritz some fix plus (any facial mist) on it to give it more intensity. Add that color all over the lid stopping at the crease and leave some space at the inner corner.

4. Blend out the harsh edges between the crease and lid. Take some Purple Haze to deepen the crease. Don’t forget to take a little at a time and build up the intensity.

5. Take the color Humming Bird on a flat shader brush and spritz with fix plus. Add that color right at the middle of the lid. The golden sheen of the shadow will give the eye dimension.

6.  ~Apply the shade Martini on the brow bone. Mix Martini and Lotus Flower and apply at the inner corner.

~With a gel liner, line your upper lash line and make a wing. I chose to make the line quite thick. With the gel liner, define the        inner corners and create a triangular point and connect it with the lower water line.

~Use a navy blue eyeliner on the water line. I used Model’s Prefer eye pencil in Blue Lagoon.

~Smoke out the lash line with Purple Haze. Then diffuse that color with a combination of Magenta Madness and Washed             Ashore.

~Apply mascara on top and bottom lashes. Apply falsies. I used my favorite pair : House of Lashes Pixie Luxe.

Fall Glam Smokey Eye featuring Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Palette

IMG_1422

Hey Hey My Bunnies,

I got the Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Palette couple weeks back and I’ve finally gotten around to play and do a proper look with it…if you don’t already know, Amrezy is an amazing makeup artist and she’s big on instagram and I am a massive fan! The colors in this palette could not be more perfect! They are right up my ally! My two favorite shades are caramel and morocco! There are some great shades for fall so I thought I’ll do a fall smokey eye as the season’s approaching in the northern hemisphere.

P.S. If you follow my instagram you’d know I’ve been obsessing over these reflection apps! Will probably have photos like these in every post I make now ^_^

EYES:

IMG_1434

~After priming my eyelids, I applied Caramel (warm yellow brown matte) on the crease and outer crease with a fluffy blending brush

~Then I applied Morocco (reddish brown matte) on my crease with a narrow crease brush (MAC 217) and packed most of the color on the outer portion of the eye and then swiped across towards the inner crease blending it back and forth; I also took it down slightly to the outer lid

~Then I patted Glisten on the lid keeping a small area bare right in the middle

~Then I took Legend on a wet lid brush and placed it in the middle bare area

~Make sure to go back and forth to blend Glisten and Legend together so that there are no harsh lines

~Then with a crease brush I applied Deep Plum on the outer corner of the lid blending it with Morocco and the lid colors

~I took Deep Plum slightly up and inwards to the crease

~Then with a clean blending brush (or you can slightly dab it into Morocco), I blended the crease so that there are no harsh edges

~I applied Vanilla to the brow bone and Legend on the tear duct area

~Made a fairly thin line on my upper lash line with a black gel liner but did not make a wing

~Curled my lashes, applied mascara and then falsies

~On the bottom I diffused Caramel first with a fluffy brush, then with a pencil brush I applied Morocco on top and then I lined my water line with a deep purple eye pencil from Australis called Grape Cake

~Then with a pencil brush, I took some deep plum and smudged it along the bottom lash line

HOPE THAT MADE SENSE! LOL

Option 2: MAC Runway Hit lipstick with Nyx Creme Brule Butter Gloss

**So I threw in an option with a lighter shade of lipstick. With a more muted lipstick I think this look can be worn in any time of the year! There are no set rules in makeup so do what your heart desires!!

Slate Smokey Eye with a pop of Pink Opal

pinkopalsmokey

Hey Hey My Bunnies!

Long time! I’m back in action with this smokey eye that I created using mostly the Lorac Pro Palette with the exception of two eye shadows. The highlight of this look (no pun intended I promise! ^_^) is the Pink Opal pigment by MAC, which is a shimmery white pigment which casts a pinky opalescent duo-chrome, hence the name! The only other eye shadow that I used is Make Up Geek Moondust which is a beautiful shimmery taupy silver but to be honest this look can totally be done without it.

What to Do:

~ After priming eyes, apply Lorac Mauve in the crease with a fluffly crease brush

~Apply Lorac Pewter on the lid leaving the middle bit empty (you can apply pewter all over n skip next step)

~Apply MUG Moondust on the middle of the lid

~Apply Lorac Slate on the outer corner blending it up to the crease

~Apply Black with a pencil brush to the outer corner and blend it with the Slate color

~Blend the edges with a clean brush and add a little bit of Mauve if needed

~Dab Pink opal lightly in the centre on top of Moondust

~Apply Lorac White to the browbone and then apply Pink Opal at the highest point

~Apply Models Prefer eye pencil in Silver Lining on the water line and drag it slightly down to the lower lash line

~Smudge the liner with Lorac Slate

~Blend the lower lash line with Lorac Mauve using a fluffly crease brush

~Apply Pink Opal as a inner corner highlight and bring it down to 1/3 of the lower lash line

~Line your eyes with black gel liner and make a wing

~I decided to do a thick eyeliner with this look

~Apply mascara to both upper and lower lashes

~Add falsies for a more dramatic effect! These falsies I used are amazing…it’s an Asian brand that I picked up from Malaysia and they are sooo soft!

I love a bronzed glowing face in summer! And blue on my waterline is one of my favorite looks! I think it makes brown/hazel eyes really pop! But I also think it looks good in all eye colors and looks beautiful on tanned skin!
