Taupe and Gold Halo Smokey Eye feat. Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette

IMG_9276

A lot of you may have heard of the German brand, Zoeva, which is known for its phenomenal makeup brushes. Well, they do amazing eyeshadows aswell!! Recently, I got my hands on their newest palette – the Cocoa Blend Palette which is inspired by chocolates ofcourse. It looked too divine for me to pass! It’s a versatile palette and you can do a number of different looks with it. I went for a taupe and gold smokey eye today perfect for a party or night. I’m pretty sure you will be seeing me use this palette a lot more in the future.

1. Firstly with a fluffy crease brush, I applied Substitute of Love (see pic above for reference) in a windshield wiper motion back and forth as a transition shade on my crease and upper crease.

2. Then with a denser crease brush, I applied Freshly Toasted on my socket area (crease) and went back and forth from the outer crease to the inner crease.

3. Then I took Delicate Acidity on a flat shader brush and sprayed Fix + (water or any face mist) to dampen the brush for a more intense pay off from the eyeshadow. I applied that shade all over my lid stopping right where the crease starts.

4. Then with a dense crease brush, I took Beans Are White and started darkening the crease especially concentrating on the outer corner. Then I took it all the way towards the inner crease and inner corner and slightly darkened that area aswell. Don’t forget to blend and take a little at a time. With dark eyeshadows it’s important to keep on adding color as you go rather than packing a whole lot of color in one go. Remember: you can add but it’s hard to take away!

5. After everything is blended out, I added Pure Ganache on a damp brush for intense payoff and dabbed it on the middle of the lid. Afterwards if you think the gold has taken away too much of the taupe you can go ahead and add more of the taupe. For more intensity on the middle, I added Australis Metallix cream shadow in Gold Gaga to achieve that slightly metallic finish.

6. I added Sweeter End on the browbone and as a inner corner highlight. I lined my lashes and made a wing. Applied mascara and falsies : House of Lashes Iconic. On the lower lash line, I applied Beans Are White on the outer and inner corner with a pencil brush smudging it close to the lash line. Then on the middle I applied Delicate Acidity. I blended it out with a little bit of Freshly Toasted. I applied a nude eyeliner on the waterline and mascara on the bottom lashesh.

Simple Smokey Eye with Bold Purple Lips feat. Urban Decay Naked Palette and MAC Heroine

IMG_8786

Hey Dolls!

I felt like wearing purple lips and the perfect purple lipstick is the oh so famous MAC Heroine. I came up with this look to complement the purple. It’s simple and pretty cool toned and all the eyeshadows I used are from the UD Naked Palette with the exception of a bronzer on my crease.

Warm Orange and Copper Toned Eyes with Contrasting Fuchsia-Magenta Lips

IMG_8146

Hello Hello!

So as you can see today’s look is perfect for your weekly grocery run and everyday chores – so natural and simple NOT! Haha didn’t mean to shock you guys there but just checkin to see if ya’ll are paying attention! So actually as you can tell from the photo and the title of this post that this look is a bit unconventional using contrasting tones on the eyes and the lip. I love the look of clashing colors especially the contrast between warm orangey tones versus really cool toned pinks. I’m quite pleased with how this came out and ofcourse it’s not everyone’s cuppa tea and that’s completely okay – makeup is art and all about experimenting and that’s what I love about it!

IMG_8188So let’s get on with the pictorial!!

EYES

The eyeshadow I used for your reference:

1. After priming my lid, I mixed a matte lighter yellowish orange shade and a deeper more true orange shade (Makeup Geek Chickadee and Inglot 383) and applied it all over the upper crease in a windshield wiper motion with fluffy crease brush. You have to make it as blown out as possible.

2.  I decided to apply a little bit of a matte yellow shade (Inglot 323) just on top of where I applied the orange colors and blend it out. Then I applied Anastasia Beverly Hills Morocco, which is a warm terracotta brown, on my crease with a denser crease brush. I swiped it from the outer to inner corner of the crease.

3. Once everything is nicely blended out, I applied Makeup Geek Foiled eyeshadow in FlameThrower, which is a super shimmery copper with a foiled finish, on my lid. I dampened my brush for it to get maximum intensity. Then I blended out the edges for a seamless transition with the crease colors.

4. Then I applied Anastasia Deep Plum on both my outer and inner corner to darken these areas and blended upwards towards the crease. Blend Blend Blend – go ahead and apply a little bit more if you have to at this point.

5. For more dimension, I applied a pop of shimmery orangey gold (MAC Melon pigment) on the centre of my lid.

6. I highlighted my brow bone and inner corner with a pale shimmery gold shade (Anastasia Legend). I lined my waterline with a gold eye pencil. On the bottom lashline, I darkened the outer corner with some Deep Plum and then placed Melon pigment in the middle and Legend on the inner corner. Blended it all out with Chickadee and Inglot 383. I curled my lashes, applied mascara to top and bottom lashes and then applied falsies : Koko lashes in Risque.

Summer in Arabia: Colorful Eye Look feat. Sleek Snapshots Palette

IMG_7894

Hi lovelies,

Yesterday I sat in front of my vanity having something totally different in my mind but I stumbled upon the Sleek Makeup Snapshots palette and the colors totally blew my mind. I had to do something colorful, something vibrant, perfect for upcoming summer festivals, parties, and weddings in the Northern Hemisphere (You lucky people! It’s freezing cold here in Aussieland :S). I’m calling it ‘Summer in Arabia’ because it is somewhat Arabic inspired with the wing and the vibrant colors.

1. After priming your lid – apply Washed Ashore on the upper crease area. Then layer on Magenta Madness with a fluffy brush on top of the previous color and go back and for on the inner and outer part of the upper crease in a windshield wiper motion to diffuse the color. Don’t pack on the color all together. Layer slowly, building up the intensity until you are happy with it.

2. Then add Purple Haze with a denser crease (MAC 217) on the outer crease bringing it inwards at the crease.

3. On a flat shader brush, take the color Green Iguana and spritz some fix plus (any facial mist) on it to give it more intensity. Add that color all over the lid stopping at the crease and leave some space at the inner corner.

4. Blend out the harsh edges between the crease and lid. Take some Purple Haze to deepen the crease. Don’t forget to take a little at a time and build up the intensity.

5. Take the color Humming Bird on a flat shader brush and spritz with fix plus. Add that color right at the middle of the lid. The golden sheen of the shadow will give the eye dimension.

6.  ~Apply the shade Martini on the brow bone. Mix Martini and Lotus Flower and apply at the inner corner.

~With a gel liner, line your upper lash line and make a wing. I chose to make the line quite thick. With the gel liner, define the        inner corners and create a triangular point and connect it with the lower water line.

~Use a navy blue eyeliner on the water line. I used Model’s Prefer eye pencil in Blue Lagoon.

~Smoke out the lash line with Purple Haze. Then diffuse that color with a combination of Magenta Madness and Washed             Ashore.

~Apply mascara on top and bottom lashes. Apply falsies. I used my favorite pair : House of Lashes Pixie Luxe.

Adriana Lima Met Gala 2015 Inspired Vampy Look

IMG_7144

Helllooo My Lovelies!

I know it’s a bit late but as promised here I am with a Adriana Lima Inspired Look from the Met Gala this year. I’ve been sick and then I was in Melbourne and I’m still feeling a bit under the weather but things need to be done! I really enjoyed doing this look and even tried to do a faux bang but failed miserably LOL !

Just a side note: My only regret is I think the highlight looks a bit too silvery/greyish…It wasn’t like that face to face and when I was doing the makeup but maybe I’ll choose a different shade for the highlight if I had to do it again.

~Start off with a grey base all over the lid – Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe

~Go all over the lid with a grey color – Lorac Stone

~Take that grey to the crease and blend – I added Lorac Lilac with Lorac Stone

~ Then apply a light/white matte shade to the brow bone just to keep in check that you are not taking the grey too high up – Lorac Vanilla

~Add a smokey grey tone with a satin or shimmery finish on the lid – I mixed MAC Satin Taupe and Makeup Geek Moonstone

~Don’t forget to blend everything together at the crease with clean brush or with a little bit of the crease color

~Now comes the fun part with the black eyeshadow – firstly with kohl pencil make a wing starting halfway the lash line

~With a smudger brush, start smudging that wing liner until it has a blurred effect

~Then with a crease brush (MAC 217/ Zoeva 227/ Sigma E25) take some black eyeshadow – Makeup Geek Corrupt – make sure you dust it off so that there is no excess product – and start going over that lining blending upward towards the outer crease and outer edge – go slowly and take as little product as possible at a time and build the black

~ Blend it with the lid and crease colors – you can go and add more of the greys if it helps you to blend

~Go with the black kohl pencil on the bottom lash line (NOT THE WATERLINE) and line halfway – leave a space on the inner third part

~With a pencil brush and black eyeshadow, smudge that liner and smoke it out

~Smoke it out farther down with a grey eyeshadow and a crease brush so there are no harsh lines

~On the inner corner, go with a shimmery champagne/pearl highlight – take it upward to the inner lid and on the inner third of the lower lash line

~Apply a little bit of that shimmery highlight shade on the brow bone as well

~Apply a nude or white eyeliner on the water line

~Curl your lashes, apply mascara on top and bottom and lashes and apply falsier! I used Social Eyes Vamp Lashes but to be honest I should’ve gone with the style Delight instead 😦

We all feel lacklustre at times, some a bit more than others (by some I mean ME :P). Life isn’t always unicorn and rainbows (if only!). It’s full of peaks and troughs (here I go with my economics)! Metallic Blue and Purple Smokey Eye

IMG_5390

Hey Hey My Bunnies!

Today I’m rocking this grungy smokey eye with this stunning metallic blue and purple duo-chrome eyeshadow on the lid….I’m head over heels for this eyeshadow…it’s from Colourpop Cosmetics and it’s called BAE! Totally appropriate considering how I feel about it! And can I just say, these eyeshadows are incredible, they are like a hybrid between a cream and powder eyeshadow and they almost feel wet to the touch. My bestie gave me a bunch of the eyeshadows as a birthday pressie and I can’t wait to get my hands on more! I’m also wearing one of their lippiestix on my lips today…keep reading to find out the name!

EYES

~After priming, I started with MakeUpGeek (MUG) Creme Brule (soft brown matte) on my upper crease and crease as a transition shade

~Then I applied MAC Hepcat (pinky purple) with a slight denser crease brush all around my crease from outer edge to inner corner – Hepcat is a discontinued shade but any pinky purple shade will do

~Then I applied MUG Bitten (burgundy matte) on my outer corner and inner corner pushing it towards the crease leaving a blank space on the middle, I applied more to darken until I was happy with it

~Make sure to blend blend blend

~On the middle of the lid I first applied a teal colored cream shadow (Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tenacious Teal). I applied a teal in order for the blue glitters on our main eyeshadow to stand out

~Then on top I applied Colourpop BAE. I used a wet brush to intensify the color even more.

~Then to darken the outer corner a little bit for more definition, I applied MUG Corrupt and Mocha together in a pointy crease brush and blended it out with Bitten

~On the browbone and inner corner I applied MAC Ricepaper

~I applied a teal eyeliner on my waterline

~On the bottom lashline, I applied Hepcat and Bitten and darkened the outer corner with Corrupt

~Applied mascara on top and bottom lashes and then applied falsies – House of Lashes Iconic

Cool Toned Smokey Eye – Grey

IMG_3923

Hello My Bunnies!

It’s been so long that I’ve done a post. It’s been hectic with the holiday season and work. On top of that, I’ve been feeling super uninspired lately but nonetheless I have a look for you today. It’s a pretty simple cool toned smokey eye with a peachy nude lip. I love using warms colors most of the time but there are times when I gravitate towards greys and taupes. I think they pair beautifully with a lot of different skin tones and you can match them with many different lip colors aswell.

IMG_3918

EYES:

~After priming I used MakeupGeek (MUG) Creme Brule per usual on the outer crease with a fluffy brush

~Then with a denser crease brush (MAC 217) I used MAC Saddle on the crease blending with Creme Brule

~With a fluffy brush I gently blended Saddle on to the outer corner in a circular motion towards the crease

~Then I used MUG Slate and with a MAC 217 and blended it in a circular motion from the outer corner bringing it inwards and stopping 1/3 of the way

~Keep blending in harsh edges with a clean brush or with a teeny tiny bit of Saddle

~Then I took Lorac Gray and started applying from where I stopped with Slate (mainly on the middle lid)

~Blend Blend Blend!

~Then for the inner one third I used MUG Rockstar which is a greyish silver with pearl pink duochrome

~For the tear duct I used Urban Decay Virgin and I also applied that to my brow bone

~Lastly I decided to deepen outer corner and crease so I first used Lorac Espresso which is a dark brown and then to deepen further I used MUG Corrupt (Black) and blended it on my outer corner very carefully so that I don’t muddle everything

~Again go with a little bit of Saddle and blend any harsh edges

~I lined my waterline with a black kohl pencil and then with a pencil brush I took a bit of Corrupt and Slate and smudged the bottom lash line

~I dragged a little bit of Virgin from the tear duct to the inner one third of the lower lash line

~I applied Mascara and Falsies – Ardel Demi 120

IMG_3440

Hello my bunnies!

I posted this face of the day photo on my Instagram and Facebook and one of my lovely followers wanted me to post the details. I almost never post my day to day makeup photos on my blog but I think I’ll do it more often from now own.

I’ve got super dry skin so I love looking radiant and glowy all the time. With summer going on full blast in Oz Land, I love this bronzed glow look even more and I’ve found the perfect formula to achieve it!

To achieve the glow in this look, I mixed the Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer with my foundation. You can apply the illuminizer on your face before applying the foundation but I prefer mixing them together. You can also pop it on your cheekbones before powdering your face. I used the L’oreal True Match for coverage and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation for the dewyness. Other foundations I recommend for a luminous finish are: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation and L’oreal Lumi Magique foundation. IMG_3462

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light is my holy grail powder to achieve a ‘glow from within’ finish. It literally gives you a blurring effect and a subtle glow that is not overtly shiny therefore it’s ideal for all over the face use.

My favorite powder highlighter at the moment is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed in Opal. It is soo finely milled. It looks beautiful on the cheek bones, bridge of the nose and on the cupid’s bow. I also think it goes fabulously with the Argan Illuminizer.

Grungy Ox Blood Blown Out Smokey feat. Lime Crime Venus Palette

IMG_3364

YUSS I finally have the Lime Crime Venus: The Grunge Palette!!! This palette is the bomb! The colors are right up my alley – I’ve been totally into warm reddish browns, berry tones and oxblood tones and the three standout colors of this palette: Venus, Creation, and Muse fall under those categories. I’d be totally satisfied if this palette contained only these three shadows but ofcourse we’ve got the added bonus of 5 more incredibly beautiful shades.

I just played with the eyeshadows a bit and came up with this grungy blown out concoction. I really like how it turned out and the best part for me is the combo of the lips and the eyes! I used a new lipstick which is part of my Sydney Sephora Haul!! (Keep reading to find out the shade) I might do a separate post on what I got from the launch of Sephora in Sydney.

~After priming my lids, I put MakeupGeek Peach Smoothie all over my lid

~Then with a fluffly brush I applied MakeupGeek Creme Brule on my upper crease as a transition shade

~Then I applied Lime Crime Venus on my crease dragging it inwards

~Then with a creamy black pencil ( I used L.A. Girl Gel Liner Pencil in very black) I roughly lined my upper lash line

~Then with a pencil brush I started smudging that line

~I took some Lime Crime Icon and Muse on the same pencil brush and went over the smudge bit

~Then with a crease brush I started blending it upward

~As I blended it upward, I started adding a little bit of muse to saturate the color even more

~I blended any harsh edges towards the crease with Venus

~Then I took Icon and darkened the outer crease a little bit
