Summer in Arabia: Colorful Eye Look feat. Sleek Snapshots Palette

IMG_7894

Hi lovelies,

Yesterday I sat in front of my vanity having something totally different in my mind but I stumbled upon the Sleek Makeup Snapshots palette and the colors totally blew my mind. I had to do something colorful, something vibrant, perfect for upcoming summer festivals, parties, and weddings in the Northern Hemisphere (You lucky people! It’s freezing cold here in Aussieland :S). I’m calling it ‘Summer in Arabia’ because it is somewhat Arabic inspired with the wing and the vibrant colors.

1. After priming your lid – apply Washed Ashore on the upper crease area. Then layer on Magenta Madness with a fluffy brush on top of the previous color and go back and for on the inner and outer part of the upper crease in a windshield wiper motion to diffuse the color. Don’t pack on the color all together. Layer slowly, building up the intensity until you are happy with it.

2. Then add Purple Haze with a denser crease (MAC 217) on the outer crease bringing it inwards at the crease.

3. On a flat shader brush, take the color Green Iguana and spritz some fix plus (any facial mist) on it to give it more intensity. Add that color all over the lid stopping at the crease and leave some space at the inner corner.

4. Blend out the harsh edges between the crease and lid. Take some Purple Haze to deepen the crease. Don’t forget to take a little at a time and build up the intensity.

5. Take the color Humming Bird on a flat shader brush and spritz with fix plus. Add that color right at the middle of the lid. The golden sheen of the shadow will give the eye dimension.

6.  ~Apply the shade Martini on the brow bone. Mix Martini and Lotus Flower and apply at the inner corner.

~With a gel liner, line your upper lash line and make a wing. I chose to make the line quite thick. With the gel liner, define the        inner corners and create a triangular point and connect it with the lower water line.

~Use a navy blue eyeliner on the water line. I used Model’s Prefer eye pencil in Blue Lagoon.

~Smoke out the lash line with Purple Haze. Then diffuse that color with a combination of Magenta Madness and Washed             Ashore.

~Apply mascara on top and bottom lashes. Apply falsies. I used my favorite pair : House of Lashes Pixie Luxe.

Of Forests and Flowers: A Romantic Daytime Look

IMG_4090

I can a be a dreamer, a hopeless romantic at times and this may sound a bit too enthusiastic but I’m already thinking about Valentine’s Day. Getting into the season of romance, I wanted to create a delicate daytime look using soft corals and pinks. The completed look reminds me of forest fairies in spring and this will surely take that special someone’s breath away!

This look was a product of a brainstorming session with my beloved bestie Adiba! I was feeling super uninspired lately and she hooked me up with some cool ideas! If you’re reading this: thanks bubs! Love you tons!

Without further ado, let’s jump right into the details!

EYES

IMG_4235

The eyes are super simple to do! I used the LimeCrime Venus palette for the whole look. I previously did a dark grungy look with the same palette here . Goes to show how versatile this palette is even with only 8 eyeshadows.

~After priming my lid, I started off with Rebirth on a fluffy brush and swept it all over my upper crease and crease, concentrating most of the product on the outer end.

~Then I packed Shell on the lid with a wet flat lid brush

~Then with the same fluffy brush I blended out any edges

~Then with a dense crease brush (MAC 217), I blended in Venus with a circular motion on both the outer and inner corner

~Make sure it is blended really well with the other shades

~You can go back and add more of the lid color or the upper crease color if you like

~After everything’s blended out nicely and you are happy with what you have, add Aura to the browbone and inner tear duct

~On the bottom lashline, drag Aura on the inner third from the tear duct

~Add Shell on the outer 2/3 of the lash line and then take Venus with a more precise brush and smudge it really close to the lashline (outer 2/3 aswell)

~Curl your lashes, apply mascara to top and bottom lashes, and pop on some multilayered wispy eyelashes. I chose House of Lashes Pixie Luxe, I think these lashes are perfect for this look and really makes this look!

~Lastly make a very thin line with a gel or liquid liner on the top lash line to conceal the lash band

Voila! The eyes done! Super simple but extremely pretty 🙂

Spring/Summer Pastel Eyes

pasteleyes

Hey Hey My Bunnies!

So today’s post is all about fun pastel shades for the spring/summer season in Aussieland!  Wearing pastel shades on your eyes may seem quite absurd or scary to some of you but trust me you can do beautiful looks with these colors! In this look, I chose to use a pretty minty green, a pastel baby pink and a bright purple!

pasteleyesdiagrampasteleyesdiagram1

~ I prepped my eyes with MAC Painterly paint pot

~ I applied Maybelline color tattoos in edgy emerald on the centre lid, inked in pink on the inner corner and painted purple on the bottom lashline. They will work as bases to brighten up the eyeshadows.

~ Then I applied MAC Steamy eyeshadow on the centre lid and Urban Decay (UD) Coax and X-Rated from the VICE 2 palette on the inner corner taking it downwards to the lower lashline

~ I blended the edges with a clean brush and then added Makeup Geek (MUG) Creme Brulee on the crease

~I applied Lorac Sable on the outer corner and upwards to the crease

~I darkened the outer corner with Lorac Espresso eyeshadow

~On the bottom lashline, I applied UD Betrayal from the VICE 2 palette

~ With a liquid liner, I lined the lashline and created a wing making sure the line isn’t too thick

~I lined the waterline with a black eye pencil

~Applied mascara on top and bottom lashes and applied falsies (Ardell 102 demi)

And VOILA! You’ve got a fun, flirty, colorful pastel eyelook for spring/summer!

pasteleyescollage

Since it’s a fun summer look, make sure you keep the skin dewy and glowing! I did not use a dewy foundation because I wasn’t sure what look I was planning to do so I added a liquid luminizer and topped it off with a powder highlighter! Ways to achieve a dewy look is to either use a dewy foundation (something’s that’s not matte), add a liquid luminizer with your foundation, or highlight your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, and/or chin, and centre of forehead with liquid/powder highlighter or both! You can always use a shimmery champagne/light gold eyeshadow if you don’t own a highlighter!

Foundation: CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation in 857

Concealer: Mac Prolongwear concealer in NW25 and Maybelline Age Rewind in Medium

Powder: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light

Bronzer: Mac Refined Golden

Blush: MAC Modern Mandarin

Highlight: L’oreal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Incandescent Light

Lipstick: Wet n Wild Dollhouse Pink!

Hope you enjoyed this post loves! Until next time XO XO !

If you reside below the equator then you know the temperature’s going off the roof! Perfect time to whip out the bronzer, the warm eyeshadows, and sport a glowing sun-kissed face! And let’s not forget that pop of color – whether its on your eyes or your lips…summer is all about the brights! Today’s look features the Australis 10 hour wear eye pencil in Aqua Attack! As you can see it’s a beautiful azure-aqua shade…reminds me of the clear blue sky on a warm summer day!

Sex on the Cheeks: Illamasqua Libido cream blush!

Illamasqua Libido

Illamasqua Libido

Excuse me for all the sexual references, but Illamasqua’s cream blush in Libido is a definite ‘turn on’ for me! From the color in the pan to how it actually looks on the cheeks….this blush is HOT my loves! Illamasqua describes it as a ‘vibrant reddish orange with a dewy finish’ and they are spot on with the description! This blush is vibrant and AMAZING!

vibrant reddish orange with a dewy finish

Everytime I look at this blush, the first scenario that comes in my mind is ‘a hot summer night, sipping sex on the beach in a dimly lit beachfront bar’! I know pretty elaborate right? But that’s how my mind works sometimes! It’s perfect for summer but I also feel you can wear it all year round. If you don’t like dewy cheeks you can always mattify it with a translucent powder. The beautiful color would still show through from underneath.

I gotta say though, this blush is definitely not for the faint at heart. This screams bold and fearless! It’s so so pigmented! You have to be very careful applying this. Just ever so lightly dab your brush or your fingers (whichever you prefer) and it will pick up enough product. Trust me! You can definitely build it up later as you go. I personally like using my Real Techniques stippling brush (any stippling brush). The sparse bristles pickup less product and easily diffuses the product on your cheeks, slimming the chances of you having a clown face 😛 .

The longevity of this product is excellent. It wore on me about 7 to 8 hours without fading. However, it’s important to keep in mind that it’s winter in Australia at the moment, so the blush might behave differently during summer. The blush also glides on perfectly and is not heavy at all.

libidoswatch

Don’t be scared from the swatch! This is quite a heavy swatch so that you can see the vibrancy of the color. It’s perfect for medium to dark skin tones but that doesn’t mean porcelain beauties can’t wear it! It will look just as beautiful! But I do think fairer skin girls or guys should be extra cautious while applying this blush. I also think its better suited for yellow or olive (or neutral) undertones, as you can see from the swatch, the blush has a subtle golden undertone. I love wearing it with a golden highlighter. Just imagine when the light would hit your face! Sex on the Cheeks I tell you! HOT steamy sex!

In the photos above, I’m also wearing the blush on my lips! And I love it! It’s gives your lips such a beautiful stain; looks like you’ve just been sucking on a popsicle or drinking Fanta! It’s very natural in that sense! Before applying, I would recommend getting rid of any foundation from your lips to get that natural stain.

Overall I feel Illamasqua makes one of the best blushes out there, both cream and powder! I’m completely hooked on this blush if you can’t tell already! I highly recommend it! XO
