Warm Gold Holiday Makeup

holidaymakeup

Hello my bunnies!

T’is the holiday season and this time of the year is all about the glitz and glamour and GOLD! I love a warm gold smokey eye with a bold red lip and today’s post is all about that! I just bought the Nyx roll on shimmer in Almond today and the color really inspired me to do this look. Its much more shimmery then it’s showing up in the photos and it has some micro glitters as well. I’m quite impressed and might do a review once I get my hands on some more of these!

Spring is finally here in Australia! I’m so excited ! Cold weather has never been my thing! To celebrate spring, I thought of using some colors on my eyes today. I fell in love with this beautiful turquoise eyeshadow in the BH Cosmetics Malibu palette and had to use it! Hope you enjoy this pictorial guys and I’ll be post more and more spring tutorials in the future!

These are the eyeshadows I used from the BH Malibu palette in addition to a few other eyeshadows.

PICTORIAL TIME!

turqpictorialcollage

– apply a white base all over your eyelids: Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk

-apply a soft brown color on your outer crease as a transition: Mac Soft Brown

-apply a soft coral over that brown color on both your outer crease and crease area: Inglot 383

– apply a shimmery turquoise color on your lid and blend with the crease color: BH Malibu palette

– apply a dark chocolate brown on the outer corner taking it to your crease and blend: BH Malibu palette

– to make the crease slightly darker, trace a black color with a pencil brush on your crease and blend: Sleek Storm palette

– apply the coral on the lower lash line and then apply the dark brown closer to the lash line

– apply the turquoise on the tear duct

– apply a shimmery white eyeshadow with a gold shimmer on your browbone: BH Malibu palette

– use a black gel liner to line your upper lash line and create a long wing: Maybelline eyestudio gel liner

– apply a black pencil on your waterline dragging it down a little to the lower lash line and then smudge

– apply mascara and false lashes if you like, I skipped the false lashes: Maybelline Falsies mascara and Rimmel Lash Accelerator

And you’re done!

You don’t ofcourse have to use the same exact eyeshadows. You can use whatever you have 🙂

Review: TheBalm Instain Blush in Argyle and Toile

instainblush

Hi my lovelies!

I’ve been meaning to do this post for awhile now! TheBalm InStain blushes have stained my heart and my cheeks…in a good way ofcourse! They are $26.95 at David Jones (Australia). You can also buy them from here. These range of blushes are described as long wearing, staining powder blush. I own two of the six shades but I intend to buy more! The shades are:

Argyle (petal pink)

Toile (strawberry)

Swiss Dot (peach)

Lace (bright pink)

Houndstooth (mauve)

Pinstripe (plum)

I own Argyle and Toile. They are both extremely beautiful colors. TheBalm have divided them into two categories: spring or fall. Argyle is a spring blush and Toile is a fall blush! How fitting with Spring approaching the Southern Hemisphere and fall approaching the North! But I feel these two in particular can be worn in any season! They are both extremely pigmented! And boy they weren’t kidding with the ‘long wearing’ part! I wore these blushes for about 8 hours and they were going strong for all 8!

They come in a very nice compact cardboard packaging (classic theBalm) and also has a nice mirror. I love love love the packaging! Can’t stress enough how cute the packaging is!! And obviously the names are reminiscent of different patterns and the patterns are also shown in the packaging!

On to the swatches!

Argyle is a blue toned pale pink with a matte finish. It kicks up some powder when swatched so a word of caution there.

Toile is a coral with a bit of orange and pink. It’s a more of a satin finish and very buttery.

This is me wearing the blushes….lighting sucks in my room sorry if they aren’t two visible 😦

I can’t wait to try more of these blushes! I still can’t decide which one to get next. Can’t buy all of them together…I’m a broke student 😦 I’m debating between Houndstooth and Lace.

I highly recommend these blushes guys! And they are pretty reasonably priced! XO

FOTD/EOTD: Easy Neutral Eyes with a Bright Lip!

candyfotdcollage

I’ve been wearing this look almost everyday this first week of uni: very easy neutral eyes with a bright bold lip. The eyes only take a few minutes to do, so its perfect for those days when you’re running late for class! I’ve been switching up the lippies, but I must say, I’ve fallen in love with Mac’s Candy Yum Yum all over again!

Here’s a closer look at the eye makeup:

candyfotd10

Excuse my red eyes, you can tell uni has already started to dictate my sleeping patterns! The lighting’s a bit washed out in the photo. The lid color is a bit more bronzy in real life.

Here’s a Step By Step of what I used:

– Obviously I primed my eyelids first: Nars Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base

– On the lid I used Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze

-Then on the crease I applied Mac Soft Brown with a Mac 217 brush

– On the browbone I used Mac Brule

– On the waterline I used Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Pencil in Nude

– Curled my lashes

– Applied one coat of Maybelline Falsies and one coat of Rimmel Lash Accelerator on both top and bottom lashes

AND ALL DONE!!!

Here’s a collage of all the products I used (except for brow):

Top Left: the products mentioned above used for the eye makeup

Bottom Left:

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation: shade 8 and 6.5 (I mix them for my perfect color – one of the bottles is the new design but the product is the same)

Mac Pro Longwear concealer in nw25 and Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in Medium

Maybelline Fit Me Powder in 230 Natural Buff

Top Right:

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder in 03

TheBalm InStain blush in Argyle

Mac Soft and Gentle MSF

Bottom Right:

Mac Candy Yum Yum !!

Hope you liked this post guys! The eyes are so easy to do but still looks fab with a bright lip! If you like my posts, don’t forget to follow my blog! Till next time my lovelies! XO XO
